1. Who we are
Handy Apps Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), referred to here as “Handy Apps”, “we”, “us” or “our”, provides this website and the Handy Apps products described below.
For privacy questions or to make a request, use our support options for privacy enquiries. Please identify the app and version concerned. Do not send passwords, PINs, private media or a full financial database.
2. What this policy covers
This policy describes information handled through handyappsforlife.com and our Android apps, including Expense IQ, Tasks IQ, Photo Locker, Video Locker, Tip N Split, Currency FX, Loan Calculator IQ, Discount Calculator, Bills Reminder and Photo Wall FX, including their relevant paid editions.
Earlier Handy Apps products may have different features. The information processed depends on the app version, features you use, settings, permissions and region. This policy should be read with the privacy information and permission prompts inside the relevant app.
Following a link to Google Play, a payment service or another website takes you to a service with its own privacy practices. This policy does not replace those services’ policies.
3. When you use this website
This redesigned static website does not include advertising scripts, third-party analytics, tracking pixels, embedded videos or externally loaded fonts. It does not create a website account or take payments.
Our hosting infrastructure may process technical request information such as an IP address, requested URL, date and time, browser information, referrer and response status to deliver the website, investigate errors and protect it against abuse. An IP address can be personal data; we do not describe it as anonymous.
This website does not currently provide a contact form. For enquiries, use the contact details in the App support section of your app’s Google Play listing.
No non-essential browser cookies are set by the supplied website code. Your email service and websites that you open through external links have their own cookies and settings. If website analytics, forms or other services are added later, this policy and any required consent controls must be updated before those services operate.
4. Information you use in our apps
Financial and productivity records
Apps such as Expense IQ and Bills Reminder handle the information you enter to provide their features. This can include transactions, accounts, budgets, payees, categories, bill dates, notes and receipt images. Calculators process the values you enter; some versions also let you save calculations and notes on the device.
Using an optional backup, export or cloud-sync feature is different from keeping a record only on a device. An export creates a copy at the destination you select. A cloud feature transfers the information needed for that feature to its configured service. In Expense IQ, optional Google-backed cloud features may also process the account information needed to associate records with your selected account. Do not assume that uninstalling removes separate exports or cloud copies.
Photo Locker and Video Locker
These apps use access to media you select to hide, organise, display or unhide it. Hidden photo and video content is stored on your device rather than in a Handy Apps cloud media library. Depending on the version and enabled features, the app also handles information used for PIN protection, optional recovery and purchase access.
Local hidden-media storage is separate from the technical information processed by advertising or other service components. It does not mean that every component of the app operates without a network connection or processes no data.
Photo Wall FX
The wallpaper features access photos you select so they can be displayed in a collage or live wallpaper. Do not include private photos in a wallpaper that others can see on your device.
Permissions
Depending on the app and Android version, permissions can be used for selected photos or videos, files, a camera action, notifications or other features you choose. Android lets you review and change permissions. Withholding a permission can prevent the corresponding feature from working.
5. Advertising and other service providers
Ad-supported versions of our apps use advertising services, including Google AdMob. Depending on SDK version, configuration and consent choices, advertising components can collect or share technical data such as IP address, approximate location inferred from that address, device or app identifiers, app and ad interactions, and diagnostic information. Purposes can include serving and measuring advertising, detecting fraud and improving service performance.
Non-personalised ads are not the same as “no data processing”. Limited technical processing can still occur. Any additional mediation or advertising provider included in a particular app must also be reflected in that app’s disclosures and consent choices.
Other relevant services can include Google Play for app distribution and purchases, Google-backed services for optional cloud features, hosting providers for this website, and Google Workspace for messages you send to our support address. Feature-specific service use must be checked against the version you use.
For information about Google’s processing, see Google’s Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from partner services and the Google Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure.
6. Purchases and subscriptions
Google Play processes purchases made through its billing system. We may receive or process information needed to establish purchase status and provide premium access, such as a product identifier, order reference, purchase token, subscription state or information you supply for support. Payment details are handled by the payment service; do not send us full card information.
When contacting support about a purchase, an order ID and the app name may be sufficient to start investigating. Cancelling a subscription, restoring premium access and deleting app records are separate actions.
7. Why information is used and disclosed
Information is used as relevant to provide requested app features, maintain access to purchases, deliver optional sync or backups, answer support requests, operate the website, diagnose technical issues, provide advertising in ad-supported editions and protect against abuse.
Information may be processed by service providers supporting those functions, or disclosed where legally required or necessary to protect users and the service. We do not treat permission to display a private photo or manage a financial record as permission to publish that content.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, the appropriate basis depends on the activity: providing a service you request, your consent where required, applicable legal obligations, or legitimate operational interests where permitted. Consent-based processing can be withdrawn through the applicable controls or by contacting us; this does not undo processing that lawfully occurred before withdrawal.
8. Your choices
You can review Android app permissions, use privacy or consent controls provided within an app, and review the advertising controls made available by Google and Android. Availability and wording vary by app version, device and region.
You can decide whether to use optional cloud features, choose where to keep exports, and remove local information through the relevant app or device controls. Make a verified backup before destructive changes. For support and privacy enquiries, use the contact details in the App support section of your app’s Google Play listing.
Where applicable law gives you rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent, contact us to make a request. We may need proportionate information to verify that the request relates to your account or data. You may also have a right to contact your relevant data-protection authority.
9. Retention and deletion
Local records and media normally remain on the device until removed by you, the app’s functions or the operating system. Cloud copies, exports and device backups are separate, and must be considered individually when deleting information.
Support messages, operational logs and purchase-support records are kept only for as long as needed for the purpose for which they were obtained, including resolving the request, security, recordkeeping and applicable legal obligations. Retention should not be indefinite merely because storage is available. Service providers can have separate retention obligations.
Use our data-request page to request deletion of an app account or information under our control. Identify the app and the information concerned. We will explain any information that must be retained and why, where applicable. Requesting deletion does not itself cancel a Google Play subscription.
Locker warning: uninstalling, clearing app data or resetting a device can permanently delete hidden photos or videos. Unhide and back up anything you wish to keep first. We cannot restore a cloud copy that does not exist.
10. Security and international processing
App and website data should be protected with security appropriate to its sensitivity, including access restrictions and protected network connections where information is transmitted. Encryption features, key handling and authentication behaviour vary by product and version. No app, device, network or backup method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Protect your device, account passwords, locker PIN and backups. Do not share sensitive credentials with support. A PIN-protected gallery is not a substitute for keeping independent backups of important media.
Handy Apps is based in Singapore. Service providers may process information in other countries. Where legally required, appropriate safeguards must apply to transfers of personal data; the specific arrangement depends on the provider and service used.
11. Children’s information
Children should seek appropriate adult involvement before sending personal information to support. App age ratings, audience settings and features can vary; parents and guardians should check the relevant listing and device controls.
If you believe that a child has supplied personal information to us inappropriately, contact us with the app or interaction concerned. Do not send additional sensitive information about the child beyond what is needed to identify the issue.
12. Changes and contact
We will update the published policy when relevant features, services or data practices change. The revision date appears at the top of this page. Material changes may require additional notice or renewed consent, depending on the activity and applicable law.
Questions: our support options. Please include the app name and version so we can address the correct product.
